Driving different stages of clutch?
Sorry for the newb Q, easy-one for someone. In regards to clutches and the daily operations, how does a normal clutch compare to a Stage 4 clutch?
- does the clutch still catch in the same spot (pedal position)
- is there less or more play ("riding the clutch")?
- is it less forgiving and how so?
Another angle to the Q would be, do you drive the same with a OEM clutch compared to a stage 4 clutch?
thanks in advance

I drive similar with my stage 3, 6 puck clutch as I did with OEM. It is a sprung clutch, and it still will slip a little if you "ride it".
Less forgiving ya sure, if you pop it too hard, you might break something.
Couldn't say about your stage 4. the brands are all different too, as far as stages go.

Especially breaking in a new stage 4 clutch for the first 1K, should there be any change of clutch use compared to an OEM?
It sounds like they re-act the same, but this one will have some more bite to it.

Different clutch makers will have different stages at different rates. Some will give you a heavier pedal and require more pressure to engage clutch at "x" stage..depending on vehicle as well. Others will vary with sprung and unsprung hubs and the engagement can be mild to harsh with no forgiveness. Just depends on what clutch you buy. Do some searching around and some research on here and compare peoples perspectives on different clutches.
