Default Timing belt tension?

Well I just put the timing belt on my 95 Del Sol after putting it off for a few months and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. A couple questions. Do I ever need to retension the belt? Usually I will put a couple thousand miles on a belt and then retension it but this car is a lot better designed than cars I have worked on in the past. I was planning on retensioning it but I dont think I need to. Also the manual I have was a little confusing and I am wondering if I tensioned it right. After the belt was on I turned the engine by the crank counter clockwise(as viewed from the pulley side) so that it turned the cam pulley 3 teeth past the TDC marks. So I guess that puts all the slack on the side of the belt with the tensioner and the spring takes up the tension. Did I tension it right? It seems a little loose to me but it runs fine and I guess it would take a lot more slack than I have to actually jump a tooth.

thanks for any comments

Yep. You let the spring take up that slack on the backside and then you lock down the tensioner bolt. You should be good to go.
