I have a 1988 honda accord that i drive in and around town. I was going out of town this weekend and drove for about 60 to 70 miles.

Then it started stalling as if it was out of fuel. Pull over to the side of the road, thinking it was going to stall out completely.

Came to complete stop and engine idle normally like there was no problem.

Got back on the highway up to speed of 55-60 started again jerking like it was out of gas.

I had to leave it where it was, Came back to it four days later. Started up first turn drove it up and down the street.

No problems. Got back on the highway and like clock work about 60-70 miles it started again to stall out.

lucky i was not on highway at this time i was able to make it home by keeping it under 35 mph.

 

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter. Unplug the o2 sensor out of the exhaust and see if the engine will run better.
