Default s2000 valves, springs, etc....

i'm going to freshen up the head on my 01 s2000 and am more than likely going to purchase new valves, springs, retainers, etc. not going crazy basically trying to stay as stock as possible so would it be cheaper for me to just get all oem parts or would it be the same to go ahead and purchase after market parts such as "science of speed" parts? please give me ur 2 cents...

if youre trying to stay as stock as possible, id go OEM....i have one question though, is there any issues with your current components or is it just a maintnance thing? you could do a leak down test to see if theres any issues with your current parts...you may not need to spend your money because it may not be necessary

Dunno about cost comparison, but AP1 retainers are known to crack, so I'd recommend at least upgrading those to AP2.

One of my spark plugs loosened and in turn messed up the coil pack and the threads for the spark plug in the head. At first I helicoiled it but that didn't last long. Therefore I purchased a used head and that's where I'm at as of right now
