a/c compressor id
I have a 90 civic canadian model hb d15b engine. my belt tensioner doesn't tension so i looked in the local junk yards and at the online parts catalogs to find a replacement. all the junk yard and the parts catilogs show a different belt tensioners than the one I have. the parts catalogs show a matsushita or a sanden compressor that have the same tensioner but different than mine. I looked under acura w a denso compressor and it looks closer to mine. Does anybody know if honda installed a aftermarket compressor on these civics? and what kind?
As far as I know, EF's only ever came with a Sanden TR70 or Matsushita compressors.
If you have a Canadian model it's *possible* that you have dealer-installed AC or some other "custom" aftermarket non-OEM-AC, in which case who knows what compressor was used.
There are no markings whatsoever on your compressor?
If you could take/post some pics of your compressor that might help us identify it for you.
But if you're just looking for a belt-tensioner why the worry about your compressor?
