Base RSX 1/4, 0-60MPH times
There have been multiple people pull 15.6's and 15.7's from base RSX's. Those are 5-spd manual's though... bone stock, even tires.
I think the auto-trannied ones run about a second slower, but I'm not sure.

I'm asking because I know a guy that got a automatic base rsx. He raced his friends prelude and he said they were side by side until the 4th gear when the prelude took off. Yeah I know it sounds fishy, but he wouldn't lie to me.
My friend ran a 16.6 in his 5spd, w/ 17 in wheels and an injen intake. Yes that is extremely slow, but the weather was playing a huge part in his and my shittyness. We are running again in a month or so when it gets cold here in Augusta(seems like never).
BTW, my GSR w/ AEM cold air ran a 16 flat on the same night
I can tell you it isn't because of shitty driving because he was pulling 2.3 60's and I was hitting low 2.4's

I spanked the crap out of a base RSX 5 speed with my GSR,I find it hard to believe there pulling 15.6 15.7 stock, more like 16's.Like they've been tested at.And I'm not flaming on RSX's just MO.

you must remember ...you Gs-r is not stock..do you think your running stock numbers....i doubt it....and surely hope not..with your mods....it could maybe keep up with a 98-01 (stock) Gs-R .....but a OBD 1 Gs-r vs the base Rsx.....see ya later RSX

For your information. My 98 GSR w/ 50k miles will spank my friends RSX EVERY time when we have raced. We both have intakes on. That's it. He does have 17's compared to my stock 15's, if that makes a huge difference. I usually pull away a little up to third, but when we both shift to third, I keep pulling and he just seems to let up. I guess the base RSX's third gear is like the LS' third gear.
Yes, 3rd in the base RSX is very tall.
The main problem with the RSX is that it's top end is bottled up by 1.75" exhaust piping, restrictive header, and a fairly restrictive airbox. I'm sure when (or if) your friend gets I/H/E, he'll give you a much better run.
That's good for 150-155whp (about the same as a gsr with those mods) and low to mid 15 second passes (a little slower than the gsr mainly due to gearing and weight).

Base RSX = Boat Slow
WTF. When My 2000 GS-R was stock, I could take on OBD-1 GS-R's without a problem. This OBD-1 OBD2 bull **** has got to stop. Sure OBD-1 cars get better gains from mods, but it doesn't make a difference where a Base RSX could beat one and lose to another.

I took a base RSX for a spin, it did feel a bit slow, but with nice smooth acceleration. Comfy. Wish I could like on the looks and suspension more though.

well i dont know if they run stronger..but if we can remember some OBD 1 gs-r's were lighter .. as some had cloth seats ...etc ....but OBD 1 gs-r 's respond better to mod's .....
From what I've seen, they seem to put out a couple extra ponies in stock form, and respond better to E/H because that 2nd o2 is not there keeping emissions flawless. If you look it seems car mags seem to get better 1/4 numbers out of the 94 95 GSR's,I could be wrong but they numbers seem to provide a good argument.
