Default 780whp E85 RB26 Nissan 240sx Paint Correction

So I took a trip back down to Edge Automotive to take on this Nissan 240sx. This bad boy has a built RB26 motor from the Nissan Skyline in Japan, only pushing 780whp on E85 gas . This car was corrected in late February, so It was still pretty cold out side. Lets take a look at what was done.

First I pre-rinsed the car knocking off any loose debris

Then I moved on to the wheels which needed some attention.

and while doing the wheels, I soaked all of the built up rubber with Tarminator to make it easier to remove later on in the wash process.

The wheels were cleaned using P21s wheel gel and left to dwell a bit to break up all of the hard brake dust.

The EZ detail brush helped get into the wheels real good, and the other various brushes finished them off.

After the all of the wheels were cleaned, I foamed the car down using Dawn Ultra concentrated detergent in my Foam canon to strip the car from any of the previous waxes.

Now that the sun was out, the Tru surface could be revealed.

You can definitely see that someone got a hold of the hood with a rotary buffer swirls were everywhere!

Next the car was brought in to be claybar'ed and taped up. Once that was complete I decided to do a test spot on the hood to see what steps needed to be taken.

This pic came out blurry but I used a FLEX 3401 with a surbuff pad with M105

Here is a good 50/50 of the hood. it really shows you how much a rotary buffer (if not properly used) can hinder the gloss and shine of your car. (Dont let just anyone buff on your car)

Next I moved on to the fender

This paint had a lot of flake in it, but it was mostly hidden by all of the swirls

I taped off an area and took this 50/50 shot.

and this is what the paint should look like

Next for the driver door, all of it looks pretty uniform and good right?

well look at the potential that is has.

All panels were compounded using the FLEX 3401 with surbuff pads and M105, and then the car was polished using M205 and LC hydrotech tangerine pad

After everything was polished I applied some Black Fire Wet Diamond paint sealant

It was pretty late when I left, so i came back the next day to get some sun pics

Thanks for viewing have a blessed day!

Looks great, any bay shots? I am surprised that hood came out so nice. Most clear coats on CF doesn't seem to be the best quality.

Generally, a true CF hood is gel coated, similar idea to working with fiberglass.

Great job as usual! I know you mentioned it somewhere but what were the name of those gloves?

Actually a pretty cool car. Something is wrong with your ride height in the back though...

Great job as always. Every time I hear(see) tarminator I have to say it out loud to myself in my best arnold voice. (yes when I hear the word arnold, I hear it just like he would say it)
