I've seen many threads with this question, but i just want a confirmed answer by you guys. if i decide to get a AEM V2 intake, will my car pass smog? the engine is all stock.

 

dont quote me i could be wrong but, i think you will pass the test fine, but! the smog dude may not even allow you to take the test with it on in the first place for visual inspection reasons ...

again i could be wrong... but as for passing the test itself.... i think you will pass....


some local smog places in "my" area won't even let you take the test if your air filter is showing or if its aftermarket like K&N....and there's some that will let you take the test....

 

yeah its so confusing cuz i thought its legal and ill pass because AEM is C.A.R.B. leagal, but i know that i would probably fail for visual.

 

well from what i was told, if its stamped carb legal.. it also has a number on it for cops and smog places to run the number to see if it belongs on your motor. ive never been into a situation like this myself...

for example.. you may have a CARB legal sticker... but it might not be for a b16a2... and might be for a single cam y8.... again, i could be wrong.


my suggestion... try to smog it with it on...if he allows it or not... worth a try lol... tell him its carb legal.....

I think u'll be good because AEM is carb legal, but even though, take all ur intake paperwork with u when u go to the smog shop just in case
