I bought my 99 LS last August. Ever since i have had it i have a problem every once and awhile. This does not happen all the time but when i take a right turn or hit a bump in the road, my interior dome light comes on. I know it is my drivers side door because sometimes i just set my knee against the door while driving and it makes it come on.... I can sometimes open and close the door hard to make it go away, but not always. During the day this does not bother me but driving at night, this gets really annoying!!! Can anyone help me? What is wrong here!

 

Sounds like the switch in the door jam is loose, there should be a rubber covered pin that sticks out near the door latch. Atleast I think it's a Pin on the newer models, DA integras have a slide switch.

 

Yeah, i checked that and it looks fine. It doesn't look worn at all. I guess i will have to look at it further. Thanks.

 

Pull the switch out and check the wire bro,the wire might of came off or its loose and grounding out on turns.

 

Any chance the door's latch mechanism is loose (or the loop it connects to on the door frame)?

Does the door move much when you push/pull by hand (window down, door closed)?

Oh nice, i will pull out the switch and check the wire. I didn't even think about that. Thanks. No, the door does not move really at all. I will look into this further and let you guys know how it goes.

 

if u dont have any loose wires id replace the switch u can probably get one at junk yard for $5 or so / on my 95 integra it has switch next to dome for on /auto/ off , try switching it to off
