Default Swap options( G23 or J series) and build of my cb7

So I just bought my first cb7 this past week.

It has 220k miles, completely rust free, perfect interior and clean title. The color is honda rosewood, and the paint is great. The motor and tranny, however, that is a different story lol

The tranny slips and engine seems to be on its last leg so here are the idea's that have been going through my head:

1. G23 with F23 bottom end with h22 head or h23 head( not sure of what I want yet)
Its the cheaper route and I have tons of parts from my 4 previous preludes I have owned.

2. J series swap: Because I wouldnt mind doing something completely different and something not so common(the frankenstein isnt that common either but more common than a J swap in a CB)

I have a friend of mine who has plenty of parts so getting parts is not a problem.

My question is... Has anyone here attempted the J swap or completed it?

I do not want a H22 swap because it is just too common for me

*Its to dark to take pictures of the car. I will post up pics tomorrow*

There are one or two J32 CB7's out there, but they're both oneoffs. You'll need to get the mounts made (or make them). Budget and goals are key. If you're looking to spend $1000 or less, a J swap is not in your future, unless you go with a '98 J30 and auto trans, which wouldn't be worth all that time and effort

Not to worried about the money and I rebuild wrecked honda's 5 days a week.

Id like to have a j swap but the G would be very easy and cheap. I read the G23 article in Import Tuner and the k20 pistons work with the f23 rods and the valve reliefs match well with the valves so I may go that route. What ever I decide I will know tomorrow. Im pulling the parts to whatever I want to do tomorrow. Depends on what mood im in i suppose.(spend alot of money or not) lol

Also when plugging the 2 oil passages, can someone who has done this post pictures of how its done, or how you did it? I have a good idea but Id just like to see what has worked for others.

Well, the holes in the cylinder head are circular. Run some bolts in, or I say have someone weld them and just machine the heads flat again.

Gotta run K20 pistons backwards to counter the piston offset. From what I've read it should still clear a modest cam, but I'll be claying mine in the next few days when I feel like it

Yea, that is what I have read as well. I spoke to david from rywire and just going by what he had said, they are currently designing a j series swap harness for our accords I cant freakin wait lol

Anyways, as of right now myself and a friend of mine(who owns a honda grave yard) will be building G23's so I am getting all of my parts for free and when this rywire harness becomes available, you better believe a J series will go into my accord! I just snapped some pics of the car today and I will post them on the first post.

I can not wait until that harness becomes available!!!! lol
