battery wont stay charged
I know i did something wrong. Battery relocate was too simple. My battery keeps dying after I put it in my trunk. When I use the jumper box it starts right up. I just connected the wires and ran them back to my trunk. Where did I go wrong?
First and foremost, do you have a solid ground connection and are the terminals clear of corrosion? Secondly, is the alternator producing a proper charge?
On a side note - I have never personally done a battery relocation and am a horrible electrician, thus I cannot account for the factuality of the following statements. I have read multiple forums discussing the necessity for a larger than stock gauge wire to accommodate the distance change of a battery relocation to the trunk.

Is it the same battery that was working when you had it under the hood?
When you start it with the jumper box, are you jumping from under the hood or from the trunk?

What gauge is the power wire?
What is the ground attached to?
My guess is your ground location. I had similar issues where I was getting weak power. Try bolting the ground to the spare tire tie down or under one of the nuts on the back where the taillights are. Make sure paint is scraped away well so you get good metal to metal contact.
