Default mirror help

does the 01-04 acura rsx LH and RH mirror fit on the 7th gen civics? im trying to look for a pair of civic hybrid folding mirrors, but most of them are non-folding and the sellers are using fake images of folding mirrors to advertise their item. but back to the main question, do rsx side view mirrors fit the 7th gen civics? or does anyone know where i can grab a pair of hybrid ones!

Unless you have a sedan, the Civic Hybrid folding mirrors will need hefty modification to fit properly. Also, the RSX mirrors will need to be modified regardless of which Civic body style you have.

If you do go ahead with the RSX mirrors please make a thread about it, I'd love to see how much modification they would require.

Have you ruled out out buying the UKDM folding side mirrors?

For the RSX mirrors, you're looking at plastic manipulation to match the A-pillar shape, and I believe the mounting holes are in different locations. Also, if you want to retain power mirrors, you're probably looking at some wire-work there as well.

And, just as an informative, RHD market vehicles have their exterior mirrors angled differently then LHD market vehicles due to the seating arrangement and the angle of reflection.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of the DC5 and EM2 mirror bases, undoubtedly, it would be be very time consuming and difficult to attempt to modify them; someone with experience retro-fitting headlights and maybe a bit of fiberglass experience could achieve it.

The wiring shouldn't be to difficult, you could utilize the mirror controls from an RSX for the controls and just add a wire for the power mirrors since thats the only missing function on an EM2.

As far as RHD mirrors, they are different, but I assume they aren't overly difficult to drive with since lots of people have done the swap.

Well, to be honest, the modifications needed to make a Civic Hybrid mirror fit an EM2 isn't all too bad. It just requires some skillful fabrication and a pair of Hybrid mirrors. I picked mine up brand new from Honda, and had my bodyshop guy take care of it.

You can adjust the mirror seat bases inside the mirror housing a little bit to allow for the change in angle, but it's a tricky process and can shatter the mirror glass.
