Motor swap
I have a 1989 Honda Civic LX and well I love speed and just working on cars no matter what kind. So I was wondering, would a 2000 Civic V-Tec motor fit my car? Would it just drop in or would it need more? Computer?
No I'm not kidding I don't know anything about Hondas, I'm a FORD guy so I wouldn't know anything about Hondas and what works with them. Don't give me attitude either just kuz you know about Hondas and I don't, everyone gots to learn something new.
hey dude, the search is there and reading really helps. people here on honda tech can become irritated with such simply searched questions.
in a nutshell, no you cannot. honda motors are basically broken down in d-series (single overhead cam) b series (dual overhead cam) and h series (dual over head cam also) and k-series(new dual overhead cam motors). the motor in your car is a d-series and therefore cannot mat up to a b-series tranny. the computer has nothing to do with it.
point of advice, always search and read around in different topic sections. there is a TON of stuf to read on. Trust me, there is a TON. posting questions like this will make you a target sometimes. dont take it harshly though, just use your brain and not your mouth.
