Default Oil in Spark Plugs / HT leads

Hmmm Fun, Pulled all 4 HT leads today and found a nice pool of oil in each one ¬.¬ just double checking i'm suspecting the seals have gone in the bottom under the rocker assembly.

Could anyone confirm this thought before i pull the rocker assembly off ?

Or could be be some other underline problem ?

Car starts & Drives.

There are two sets of seals. One set is at the top in the valve cover, easy to replace. The other set, as you stated, is under the rocker assembly. May want to try the easy first, but that's just me.

I did the easy ones first when i replaced the rocker gasket as well. Think i may have found the problem tbh.

I didn't tighten the rocker cover down tight enough *blushes*

So i just went out and bought the new rocker cover seals to replace the temp seals i fashioned till the new ones as oil was escaping, But seems i don't have the under seals in the kit ¬.¬ as they gave me an F18 set with something called hydraulic lifters O.o they look kinda right, but...not... will take a pic later.

So currently planned for tomorrow is to take the rocker cover off, Draining enough oil, cleaning up. and tightening back down to see if it sorts the problem with the old seals in place.

or.....

Can anyone link me for a F20 set of seals for under the rocker cover ?

Ether in PM or here rules permitting please.

So glad I have an f22b1 now, in my old cd7 lx I had that same issue with the lower seals and I never cared to fix it, thanks fully the f22b1 has just the upper seals.

i reckon it is just the top spark seals when i was a spanner and used some washers in place of the real seals/washers attached on the rocker cover. Strangely it worked to get me about and didn't leak oil for day or two, but must have moved and oil was god dam everywhere *blushes* cleaned it up and put the real seals on the rocker cover and seems to have stopped the flow and looking clean again, Tomorrow i have a turkey baster ready to get the pools of oil out of the wells and and take off clean everything up and try again with the right torque this time with the right rocker cover seals :D

It sounds like the top set, not an uncommon thing. It's happened to both my hondas and is a good reason to paint the vc lol.

I usually just replace the top seals, clean it all out, and if the problem persist, replace the lower seals. Usually if it's gotten this far, it's probably time for a valve adjustment anyways. Two birds one stone.

love it... After cleaning out all the wells to bone dry

Drove car for a bit and tiny bit of oil is leaking in from the top seals.

Took rocker cover off and the new seals i put in the other week had just failed to do what they should of done as i didn't tighten the RC down to the right torque

Bought another gasket kit over the phone so will have it sorted tomorrow, Happy days.

New seals and proper torque seem to have done it. Tiny bit of oil in the wells but less than a nats dribble so i'm hoping the seals are just setting and no oil will seep in Now onto the ABS and BAT light still on

Hope so, gave the car a 15mile run out and back so 30 miles, checked them at the 15 mark and thats when i saw the nats dribble of oil on the HT leads, on way back it was dark when i got home tonight so i didn't check them out of faith *cross fingers*, They have a night now to cool down, Set in i hope and i will clean then out again before i set off tomorrow to see if anything more gets in on my travels when i next stop the car.
