Default 99 Civic recipient and 96 Accord donor - Question about F22 swap followed by H22 swap

ok so this is my situation , i have a 99 civic hatch. I would like to do a swap to it because im not feeling the ole y7 lol, i myself am a dohc fan, so for those of you who are going to say turbo the single ... NO!

i have a 96 accord with the f22, its 5spd, and it runs decent ...

My plan at first was to sell the accord or trade it for a b series swap for the civic, then i started thinking that since i already have an accord and the h22 is a direct drop swap for it then i may be able to use it as a donar car for the civic and create a monster out of the civic ..

ive done a bit of searching and all i can come up with is that im going to need aftermarket mounts ect...

what i want to know is if i am going to use the accord as a donar car for the civic, what all can i use from it for an h22 swap? i know the f22 trannys will work with an h22, and yes i know the gears are different, keep in mind this is a budget build.. but whats the story on the linkages, harnesses, axles ext...

if i cant use enough out of the accord im selling/trading for a b swap ... thanks for the info ahead of time ..

I'm totally confused. Are you going to use the F22 from the Accord or just swap the Y7 for an H22?

Default Re: 99 hatch - what should i swap? H22 or F22?

sorry , im kinda in a hurry ...lol at the moment im just looking to get the civic ready for an h22 motor , so my plan is at first to run the f22 in the civic then when i water my money tree and and it starts sprouting 100 dollar bills then i plan on just pulling the f22 motor out of the civic and droping the h22 in....

since the h22 will drop in the accord with no modifcations needed i dont see why it wouldn't work for the civic after i already have the f22 in it...

i personally think that this is a terrible idea, but if you really want to do this i would assume an h2b kit will work with an f series motor

honestly, just get an ls swap for now, theyre so cheap and its so easy to put one in an eg/ek

the f series tranny isnt a direct bolt up...its very close but there a dowel pins out of place and a bolt or two that dont line up with the block

this is from another forum, but it answers the basic question i was asking , just let me know if its true... add to it if you would like ..

mounts from the accord wont work
use the wire harness from the civic and modify it
linkage will work if its cable
axles wont work... you need the same combo as the 92-95

apcustom where do you live at? Sell me your accord lol. Why not drive the accord until you have enough money for a h22 and then just swap it into your civic? That way you wont have to swap out the d series for the f22 then later swap it out for the h22. Or is this going to be a good while before your able to buy the h22?

why dont you just do the accord swap and later upgrade ur harness to vtec and put an f20 b head on ur accord motor...if u didnt know the f20 b is the accord motor in japan same f series as urs just with dohcvtec and 200 less cc's
