Sudden revving while stopped - 2011 Civic
Interesting event with my 2011 Civic last night.
I came to a complete stop at a red light. I had my foot on the brake and suddenly the engine revved up to around 2500, came down again.. I put it into park and it went up to 2500 again and then down two more times. All happened in the course of about 4 seconds. Everything was fine after that.
Afterwards, I tried to replicate the revving with the car in park and I could not manage to make it go up and down as fast as it did while I was at the stoplight. So, I know I was not accidentally pushing the accelerator.
Anybody have experience with this?
Thanks,
Nick

I have had this happen before prior to my supercharger installed. I think it has to do with the drive by wire throttle system. I have also read that it might be called rev hang.
