I bought a itr armrest this morning and the badge is 00-0089 and i looked in the reg and saw it had 8400 miles and was still alive. So if you are out there is the car still alive or what?

Sounded like someone just broke in and stole the armrest. It was replaced with a factory replacement (blank). The origial owner had to replace it shortly after buying the caR. He'll be stoked to get the original one back in the caR.
Wow, I bet you made that R owners year. Good looking out John M. The mods should make a dedicated sticky thread for recovered badges. It's better than creating a new thread every time a badge is found.
Hi there,
I sent you a PM regarding my contact info as that badge belongs to the Type-R I recently bought in VA. I cannot believe how nice it was to get an email from a person that runs the Type-R forum regarding this.
thanks copes

someone wanted to know the status on the car.
1 owner and now has around 10,0000 miles on it.
the original owner was an older man who loved the car but had a collection of other types and thus the low miles. I had bought it for my mom who was ill at the time and she is just recovering so hopefully she will feel like getting behind the wheel and having some fun as very depressed currently.
If she does not want to drive it I will happily do it as I bought it in VA and drove it up to the Northern part of NY.
thanks again for posting the find...I really appreciate it.

I wonder if he subscribed to the thread, or even has it set to e-mail him when he gets replies. He created his account on H-T to get in touch, so I assume he'll check back. Did he exchange contact info with you at all (e-mail, phone number, etc.)?
Hey John,
Sorry about the long text I sent you, as I am in the middle of cancer treatment and on heavy meds at time. Probably looped when I responded. You are to be applauded for posting it. It was part of a major Theft from the previous owner and still open case. I just spoke to the previous owner. Even though it is stolen property, I am willing to pay for it. Nice of you to report it on the site as it was a stand up thing to do. I left you my phone and email. Please contact me as I go back into treatment on 21st of March so have time still to do what it takes to get back.
