Can someone please HELP ME with my TIMING on my b18c1
Hey guys, im doing the timing on my 96 b18c1, I made the cams and crank to TDC and then i slipped the timing belt on and it still all lines up, but everytime i tighten the tensioner it takes the crank out of time. am i doing something wrong here? please give me some guidance. thanks!
yeah it usually wont matter if its just a hair off, if it seems like its a whole tooth off then rotate the crank gear just a little past the mark and it should be good
ive had problems with cheap oem replacement timing belts that will line up like a half a tooth off because there where the wrong length so i had to use different timing belt oem honda is the way to go and if its off a tooth after tightening tensioner then turn it a tooth
after tighening the tensioner i also like to slowly turn the motor 2 or 3 complete rotations to make sure everything is good and no valves are hitting pistons
