Default 2007 CRV - Reset Airbag (SRS) Module after wreck

My CRV was in a light wreck that deployed the airbags. I have since replaced the airbags, but the airbag indicator still flashes. I believe I need to have the SRS reset to erase the crash data. Attempts to reset the light via the wire jumper trick have failed.

I have located the SRS module and am preparing to remove it and send it to a module reset company on eBay.

1. Is there a way I can reset this module myself?
2. Is the vehicle operational with the module removed? Can I drive it while the module is at the company being reset?

Thanks for your insight!

i did some research and there is about 12 different ways depending on the type of srs you have. try to disconnect the battery cables for about 5 minutes. let me know if that works also were was your srs located. depending on the location i should be able to figure out which one you have to give you more direct explanation.

The SRS unit needs to be replaced. After an accident where any airbags or tensioner deploy the control unit also needs to be replaced. There is no way to clear the code without it returning.
