A/C lines have been off for about 2 weeks, replacing now, do i need a new drier?
Took a/c lines and compressor off like 2 weeks ago, im putting it all back on in a couple days. I heard something like since the drier is open to ther atmosphere it absorbs all the moisture from the atmosphere and is useless now. DO i need a new one? What would happen if i still use this one?
Yes - you most definately need a new drier. The A/C will still work with the old drier, but might not be as cold. Plus, why take the chances, driers are only about $50.00
I replied in the other thread of the same topic.
It is my assumption that all that exposure harms, is the time it takes for the system to be re-charged.
Its not the "drier" that removes the moisture, but the fluid itself, thats used in the AC system.
Am I wrong?

I'd replace it. You're supposed to replace it everytime you open your a/c system, but you'd definitlely want to if it's been open for 2 weeks.
