Default Wow...there really are stupid questions!!!

I consider myself a halfway decent mechanic with a fair amount of expierence so I feel like a complete idiot asking a question like this but here go's..... I just serviced my automatic transmission on my 03 accord and went thru the flushing procedure and now can't get it to service properly. I have dumped it/ driven it 3 times and the fluid level keeps checking high regarless of the amount of fluid I put in after dumping it.?????WTF I thought there might be some sort of clogged vent issue or something so I checked it without sealing the top of the dipstick whole and got the same results. I have absolutely no expierence with honda's but this seems pretty silly! So for additional clarification heres whats happening: I dump all transmission fluid, i put only 1/2 qt. in thru the dipstick whole, drive car off of ramps only to find the dip stick saying theres too much fluid in the transmission. Thanks in advance for your help!

I really hate to ask this question...
Are you sure your draining the transmission and not something else?

Assuming you are..
When I flushed my Dodge ram autopmatictransmission, part of the procedure, I had to run the engine in Neutral? (my memory doesn't serve me) as part of the flush, until the fluid was all out.
Does your procedure require something similar?

The procedure for changing the fluid. The transmission with converter holds 7.8 qts. of honda atf. when you drain the transmission, only 2.7 qts. will drain. This is normal. Add 2.6 or 2.8 qts. Honda ATF. Start the car . Shift it to drive then reverse, then park. You now shut the engine off and check the dip stick. It should be perfect. If not be sure you have the correct dipstick. dipstick
