03 CIVIC SPINDLE REMOVAL. BROKEN WHEEL STUDS.
HELLO FORUM. FIRST TIME POST HERE. I HOPE U GUYS CAN HELP. I have a few questions to cover. CAR IS AN 03 HONDA CIVIC LX 1.7 ENGINE. FOUR DOOR.
I WAS DRIVING AND 3 LUG NUTS CAME OFF. SNAPPED THE STUDS AND TIRE SHIFTED AROUND THE ROTER. I AM TRYIN TO REPLACE THESES STUDS. I FOUND OUT THEY cANNOT B REMOVED WITH OUT SOME KIND OF PRESS. IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO REMOVE THE SPINDLE? AFTER TRYING TO REMOVE THE SPINDLE I QUIT. PURCHASED A WHOLE NEW (USED) SPINDLE WITH STUDS. I ATTACHED EVERY THING AS IT SHOULD B. BUT NOW MY TIRE IS AT AN ANGLE. TOP OF TIRE POINTING AWAY FROM CAR, BOTTOM POINTING INWARD. TURNS OUT THE GUY SOLD ME A SPINDLE OFF A 2004 HONDA CIVIC. ARE THESE PARTS INTERCHANGEABLE? IS THIS THE REASON FOR THE TIRE BEING CROOKED. WILL AN ALIGNMENT FIX THIS PROBLEM? ALSO BACK PASSENGER STUD IS SNAPPED. IS THIS AN EASY FIX? THANK U VERY MUCH.

Where did you break the lug studs? If you replaced the front knuckle with one from a 2004 Civic, you could be in serious trouble. The bolt diameter for the bolts that connect your MacPherson struts to the knuckle are 14mm for the majority of 2001-2003 Civics (some are like the 2004-2005's, but that requires knowledge of the manufacturing date for the car), and 16mm for 2004-2005 Civics. You would need the 16mm bolts and the 2004-2005 MacPherson struts, in order to run the 2004-2005 knuckles. This would definitely cause your car to have excessive positive camber (condition you described with the top of the tire "pointing out").
As for your rear lug stud, you can probably pick up either a complete rear trailing arm assembly, or just the knuckle without the drum brake components. Either way, it'll most likely require you to bleed the braking system.

The lug studs are broken in half. Installation of the 2004 knuckle was very easy. All bolts fit just fine. It came with its own bolts and matched the one on my car. Car drives fine, except for the crooked tire. No bumpy ride or grinding. I think the 04 knuckle just sticks out a lil more than the 03 knuckle.
