i've recently picked up an 88 crx, white, blue interior, i'd like to swap the interior out of an SI into it. I think the blue is ugly, I want black, and the door panels are much better looking...is this possible to swap from a 90-91 si into an 88 base model? thanks

Rear plastics might swap but the door panels and seats won't.
The 90-91 (and some late model 89's) had seat belts located on the door instead of the pillar. The door panels were different.
The seats were different aswell
90-91 were the same for those years, however, 88' was a one year bolt pattern on the seats, 89' was aswell. This means that they will not only not bolt in, but won't be close.
You can however do a seat pan swap to put 90-91 seats on your 88 seat pans but it is not a simple affair.
Also if you plan on swapping the dash aswell, the wiring is different along with the cluster

 

that's mildly depressing, i'm not looking for a FULL interior swap, i have seats already, mainly door panels, center consol, and partial dash, i just want it black and i love the look of the SI door panels
