The curious honda owner that i am, im just wondering what are the advantages of having a 5 lug conversion. im interested in taking my car to track sometime in the future, and thinkin of this conversion... isnt it heavier?
Thanks in advance

waste of money & honda designed it with 4- wheels tires and suspension not affected plus you can still fit plenty of brake up under there with the 4 lugs..

5 lug is just extra weight. you can fit ITR (Integra Type-R) brakes with 4 lugs. search around the forum and you'll find all the info. you basically take ITR calipers (same as from Accord Wagons), and Prelude VTEC rotors (redrill them to the 4x100 bolt pattern), and bolt those on to Civic EX knuckles. it sound complicated, but it's really not. you'll just have some frankenstein brakes, but those are about as large as you can go using Honda parts.
and after you swap a motor, it's usually better to upgrade your brakes, due to increased weight from the motor and of course, more power.

5 lug provides more balance.. the R was designed as a track car.. there for 5 lugs provides the cal with better balance... its like sitting on a stool with 4 or 3 legs.. the odd number provdes balance.

really? odd numbered lugs are more balanced?
im not sure of that....
well, i found out that 5 lugs are indeed heavier... and ya, some ppl put it on so they can have a better wheel selection
i dont know about balance though..... 4 lugs are totally symmetrical... if odd lugs are better, then why didnt honda make 3 lugs??
i dunno fellas... i think i kinda get it now... im gonna stick to my 4 lugs, then after i run it on track for a period of time and when i save enuf $, i might go for the 5 lug and see the difference. thanks for ur replies.
