h22 swap integra questions
hi i am sawapping my 95 ls with a full h22 swap. i have been searching this site looking for good write ups on this swap, yet all i have been finding are a ton of retards posting bullshit. Therefore i would appriciate if you kept your oppinions to yourselfs and stick to the facts please. With that said, i only have a few questions..keep in mind this is a daily driver
1) Motor mounts and hood clearance- (i want my hood to close wile retaing good geometry) what are my options?
2)chassis modification- i am not removing the balance shafts so how much do i need to modify the frame?
3)AC- i know the power steering works but i havent heard about the air conditioning. what do i need to do to make it work? (other than ripping it out)
thats pretty much my question sheet. i appriciate the advice of any educated individual.(by educated i mean someone who has actually done this before..remember everyone, oppinions are like ********)

1) The H22 will fit unless you're going H2B. The standard Hasport mounts will work. Same with the Innovative Mounts. However the Innovative mounts are made of steel and are not billet, but therefore is cheaper.
If you go H2B the Evo mounts will mount the motor lower. If you use the QSD mounts, you will need to either space the hood or cut a portion of the webbing off.
2) You will need to remove the passenger side mount and replace it with the Hasport mount. You may need to persuade the frame rail to clear the crank pully. But this may be with early versions of the Hasport and Innovative mounts.
3) I am planning on using the H22 AC compressor and having a custom line made. However, there are brackets that allow you to use a D series compressor. HCP made one but they are no longer in business. ESP and Hasport have one or are in the process of making one.
Are you planning on converting to a manual tensioner for the H22? The stock one on the H22 is a hydraulic tensioner that is prone to failure. The H23 tensioner is manual and is the normal tensioner we all know and love.
I haven't done the swap yet, but I have been doing a lot of research. There is plenty of articles. You are correct that there really isn't a comprehensive DIY unlike some other swaps, but you can find a lot of information.
There is a guy on Tri State Tuners who has a pretty good swap documented. He never finished it...but still.

By the way, by removing the passenger mount I mean cutting it off and removing the spot welds.
Good luck. The Hybrid section of HT has a lot of stuff about H swaps.
