Shifting at 8500 almost 9000 realy?
Ok so iv com accross som vids og guys shifting their ludes at 8500 and even 9000 rmp. Wtf dangerus? Special built engine to handle this? I dont like shifting min over 8000
well yes there are built cars out there w the h22 going over 9000rpm for drag race cars mostly...alot of the decent street cars w some mods will turn 8000rpm....but if you see a stock h22 on you tube shifting at 8000rpm its probally because the tach's read off sometimes so when the tach read 8000rpm the car is really only at like 7500-7700rpm
the engines are built and tuned to rev that high..... A stock engine on a stock map definately won't last that long revving like that.

You need to take these videos with a grain of salt, the tachometer is pretty inaccurate at high rpms, what shows on the dash as 8500-9000 is usually 500-700 rpm less than that.
The F20b has a stock redline of 7600 RPM however with a set of Skunk2 pro 2cams with springs and retiners they say you can gain an extra 500 RPM out of your redline so that is 8100 right there. However in all actuality you can rev much higher. If I upgraded my car with that setup I wouldnt be afraid to go to 8500 8800. Idk about 9000 though Its not a spoon B16 here.
