The other day I was driving down the street and one of my spark plug wires popped out. Turns out the spark plug snapped in half. I replaced all the spark plugs and it ran fine for about 10 mins until it started losing compression and the engine started jolting. It seems like one of the cylinders isnt firing and i dont know why. Everything is hooked up theway it should be. Any ideas??

 

Distributor maybe ? one of the points not sparking as it should ?

Tap cap off and try turning it over to see for sparks / corrosion on the points.

 

I unplugged all the wires from the distributor and checked for corrosion this morning. None of them seemed to be damaged or corroded. I was driving it around last night and it was fine up until when I gassed it kinda hard and then I lost power and I felt some vibration from the pedal

 

Maybe TPS sensor playing around ? Choking the engine when it shouldn't

Did you let the pieces of the insulator from the broken spark plug fall into the cylinder?

 

I was afraid that some pieces fell in. They must have for it to still have problems. If that did happen what has to be done to remove it?

 

Perform a compression test. If pieces fell in and caused enough damage to create misfires you'd see the results in a compression test.

Keep an open mind, though. Lots of things can cause misfires.
