Can anyone tell me how my reserve tank exploded?

 

crazy.....water pressure....maybe when the rad cap let out the extra water pressure the old plastic couldn't take it and blew out

thanks i already ordered a new one from majestic today... just so sad b/c i was driving on the frwy yesterday and heard a pop!, the saw the temp gauge flew up and had to wait an hour for a tow home...

 

u should check youre radiator cap to make sure it has enough pressure, if it dosent replace it.. if thats good move on to doing a coolant leak and check to see if youre thermostat is not stuck.. any of these items could cause youre engine to overheat and make all that pressure go to youre resorvor bottle.
