a few days ago my passenger door quit opening from the outside so i took off the door panel and saw the rod hanging. Its the one that attaches to the door handle for the outside. Theres a plastic sleeve that the rod goes into and when i put it in there and i pull the door handle from the outside it pops out. So do i need a new plastic piece or is there something else im missing?

have you took out that piece? check to see if its broken or cracked..
