Icon2 88 Honda Civic 1.5L 16valve motor knocking

I just purchased a 1988 Honda Civic and replaced the motor. it’s a 1.5L 16valve runs fine but I just noticed after a few days it’s a little colder out and it starts up and its has a knock. it take a little bit but it goes away so I don’t think it’s going to be a rod or bearing. I am wondering if it’s because the cold weather and the oil getting thru the motor or if it is something more? I have replaced the oil twice in the last 500 MILES since the motor swap. I know I put 10w30 in and prob. should have stuck with the 5w30 I also put some Lucas oil in hoping that would help and it’s been maybe a little over 100 miles since then. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like a rod bearing... not fun.
