I just picked up a Green 95 Gsr 2 door, car has 240,000 miles and a bad tranny. bought it for 2k. comes with a good b16 tranny. My original plans were to get a Eg hatch, and do a Ls-V turbo build. I was pretty set on doing the ls-v. but now that i have a gsr im a little skeptical. i would like to keep the original engine. BUT this engine has 240,000 and makes funny little noises and blows a lil blue smoke. so we all know what that means. Do you think its worth rebuilding this engine to keep it all numbers matching or should i just start fresh with somthing that will prob be along the lines of a ls-v?

 

Reliability vs Project. Kind of how you have to look at it.

 

I def wouldn't have brought this car if I was looking for reliability, lol car is never gonna be a DD jus a hobby, that I wanna bring back to life have some fun with sell and move on. But I wanna bring her back gracefully. With 240k miles she's been around the block a few times. So either way I look at it its like trying to turn a hoe into a housewife.

 

I would go with rebuild, it would be cheaper then buying another motor which would still require money because of the LS-V.
