I just picked up a 2000 civic si and its starting to make a weird noise as i am braking in 1st or 2nd gear. It sounds like there is a siren coming from far away. You cant reallly here it in any other gear but 1st or 2nd. Would it have something do deal with brakes or totally something different?

 

Is the clutch engaged or not?
My car makes a sound when clutch pedal all the way down and i put it in first when car is moving. Thats the Syncos I believe.
Other than that I never heard of sirens from my car unless its part Emergency vehicle

 

Ya the clutch is engaged. I just dont get why it would start doing in now and not when I first got it. Maybe I always had the music up to loud.

 

Yeah, this is normal, it's the synchronizer.
