Icon2 I have H22 questions...

whats up h-t recently i have put together an H22 setup with boost in my Del Sol and i had a few questions ...First i am well aware of the H22 auto tensioner and planned and doing the conversion, but money is kind tight. Now i was talkin to a buddy of mine the other day and he told me to change it before i go to get tuned on the dyno for fear of jumping timing! My questions are as follows...

1. is it really true that the auto tensioner is so likely to fail that i souldnt have the car tuned until i change it?

2. when i change the auto tensioner is it worth it, at the same time, to get the balance shaft eliminator kit? and what are the benifits?

3. when i do the conversion is it worth buying an aftermarket timing belt (like greddy or toda) or just stick with stock?

pic of the set up:

If you have a new autotensioner in there currently, I wouldnt pull everything apart just to change it. It usually starts making noise before it fails anyways. However, if the engine is out of the car, definitely switch to the manual tensioner.

Oh, and I just removed my balance shaft belt as well. Works just fine that way

I'd remove it just for peace of mind. You don't want to skimp out on $100, which could end up costing you $2000+.
