It isn't a huge HP mod as he kept it N/A, the swap really wasn't to get more displacement either. I think he wanted the huge aftermarket pool of parts available to the K series engines. Plus a lot of aftermarket stuff for Ks are cheaper. It seems like you say you are looking for a part for an S2000 and people go "Oh really, that will cost you extra." Also he tracks the car a lot and was looking for something he could beat on without the added extras of FI.

It was HPD Honda Performance Developement that did the V6 swap they were trying to see if it would work and what kind of numbers they could get.

Last I talked with him he had it at 270whp at our altitude, tuning was still in progress.

the j's racing engine is rated at 300 hp... pretty sure its at fly but its an easier swap to do compared to having everything fabbed up... and prolly cost the same amount of money...

K motors are a dime a dozen, cheaper to go fast and the motor has been proven to adapt to mods very very well....
K motors are also newer technology then the F series so this swap can go miles longer than what the F can.
IN the end its costly.
I'll stick with my F till this becomes more available to the public

I am still on the fence about the swap, on the one side I see the potential. On the other I see the pitfalls and wonder is it worth it.
In the end though anything we do to our own cars is a personal expression of what we think is good. So to each his own.
when my motors give up, i'm taking off all the suspension components on my S, sandblasting/painting them, washing every nook and cranny of my car and leaving it on jackstands until I finish a 545CI LS swap.
If you dig up the original article you will read that this chassis was "built" without a motor and sent off to HPD. Never meant to go on sale at a dealership. So I don't see the harm?
Yes they have but I don't think that 300whp can be done with only $3K. For that price he had a built K with ivtec and he would be able to go past the 300whp mark since more power can be had from the K with aftermarket parts. He only likes to autocross so he wanted the most realiability with the most power under the curve. The car is fast in the mid ranges as the TQ is higher and better distributed over the RPM range.
