Go from 15" to 16" in order to run Continental DW instead of Yokohama S Drives?
Hello there. I am new here and couldn't quite find the answer to my question, so I am hoping you all can help me out. I am looking at getting the MB Weapon wheels and prefer to run 15", but I can only get the Yokohama 195/55/15. Is it worth the weight increase to go up to a 16" wheel just so I can run the Continental Extreme Contact DW 205/45/16 or possibly the Bridgestone RE760?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
why are you set on these tires? the cost benefit will in 15" will allow you to run much better rubber like the yoke ad08 and for less than a 205 45 16. even with replacing the ad08 more frequently that will just destroy a 760, DW or s drive in all out traction.
Thanks for the reply. I don't really need anything as sticky as an AD08 or a Dunlop Z1. It seems like the RE760 and Cont DW provide a good mix of performance and wear. The S Drives do as well from what I can gather, but to a lesser extent. I just was curious if the increased performance was worth going to the larger size. I guess using the 15s gives me the option of running the ultra sticky tires if I want that I wouldn't have with the 16s.
What kind of car is this for? What kind of driving is being done with the car?

Sorry about that. I didn't post that info because they were all tires in the same general class and I was looking for information related to the change from 15" to 16" to get to the tires I specifically wanted. In other words, is the performance of the DW or RE760 enough of an improvement over the S Drive to warrant going to a 16" to get them? It didn't really seem my vehicle or driving style were needed to answer that question.
That being said, I have a 2000 Civic EX and I drive my cars hard, but I don't general spend the required funds to go and run auto-x.
Hopefully that didn't sound rude. I just wanted to explain why I didn't include the information so you'd know that I read the rules and wasn't just throwing stuff on the board ***** nilly
Thanks again for the help.
