im new to the turbo world ive been doing all motor but i want to try something new, what is the difference between a t3 and a t4 is it just how they bolt on?

 

its the size of the housings. t3 being the exhaust side t4 being the intake side.

 

well some turbos say they are just a t3 some say just t4 some say t3/t4

It has a few meanings. There is the turbine housings can be t3 or t4. T3 is smaller and wont flow as much exhaust gases as a t4 turbine housing but this is also relavent to the size of compressor being used. t3 compressors are smaller than t4. Then you have the hybrid t3/t4 which is a t3 turbine housing with a t4 compressor housing.

Then you have different variations of size in t3 housings and t4 housings. Depends how much power your trying to make as to what combination you want to use. generally for most people t3/t4 turbos work well and there is a vast number of wheel sizes for different power levels to fit into the t3/t4 platform

Basically see what kind of power you want to make, build from there. Give more info and we can help you build something
