I am starting to plan out my turbo build for this spring and order parts. I am having a bit of hang up on some major parts. I have been doing a lot of reading and just want to hear some suggestions from you guys.

First off I will be running on a completely stock LS. I will probably be running the Super 60 turbo on a max of 8 or 9 psi and those two things are the only definite parts for now.

Questions #1

I have read a lot on intake manifolds and I still cannot make up my mind. My buddy is saying the Victor X will work best since it has a rather large plentum in it, but I am reading that I should either stay with my stock mani and upgrade the TB or upgrade to the skunk2 mani and a slightly larger TB.

What intake mani would you guys prefer with my setup?

This is just a simple opinion question. What turbo manifold is of good quality? I am considering buying the OBX topmount mani, but I have not seen many reviews on the OBX turbo manis. Let me know of any good quality brands and how the OBX manifolds are. I just prefer the OBX because it is not so pricey, but I want to ensure it will not be cracking on me.

Well I am not as worried about the price on the manifolds I just want to make sure the OBX will run good. Have you had experience with the victor x? I will only be running around 250 hp and I keep reading the victor x will not help at all because it is only good in the top end which you will not want to reach the high rpms with a completely stock ls motor.

 

the victorx has been on my crx for 2 years now so yes i have had experience with it


if your goal is only 250 h.p. then stick with the stock intake manifold man you dont need anything else at all

save the money lol

Anybody have suggestions on reliable topmounts or great looking turbo manis that are reliable for this build? The OBX topmount is only 350, but I want to ensure that it will hold up.

 

lol your only shooting for 250 man it doesnt matter if we were talking 350 or higher ide say yes but we arent

 

I made 490 on a s2 manifold on my b16 and then it started restricting flow a bit.I wouldnt buy parts twice stay with the oem manifold and when you want to make more power buy the Victor X or if money isnt an issue buy a Kinsler/BMC
or Full Race and be done with it.
