si gears in ls trany?
well i took my ls tranny and pulled all the gears off of both shafts and replaced them with a full set of si gears trying to make it more like a gsr tranny. my problem is that now the case wont go down becuse the top bearing on input shaft is not lining up te si gears r pushin the shafts apart to thpoint where they arent quite straight from top to bottom. anyone tried this before and have any solutions?
You can't use a full set of Si gears. You have to keep the LS 1st and 2nd due to the fact that those gears are part of the input shaft on the input shaft side of things.
If you're using the LS mainshaft you have to use the LS countershaft 1/2 gears. B16 mainshaft you have to use B16 countershaft 1/2 gears. B16 mainshaft you will need to shim.
ok, i took everything off of an si mainshaft that would come off and slid it all onto the ls mainshaft. i did the same thing on the countershaft, pulled everything off of the si shaft that would come off and tapped it all back down on the ls countershaft n put those stacks in the tranny with the ls diff n ring gear. using the si shift forks because they ere a lil different than the ls ones

im going to use the ls main and countershaft, so i need to put the ls 1-2 gears back on but leave the rest of the si gears on here, right? 1-2 gears are starting from the bottom and counting up on the gears that are removeable, correct? there s a final drive gear that is made to the countershaft, then reverse gear also made to shaft, then first followed by second?
Not exactly. Final drive gear, then 1st, then 2nd. Reverse is part of the 1st/2nd sleeve on the countershaft side. It's cast into the mainshaft between 1st and 2nd on the mainshaft side.
