Icon2 DC Headers Failing Smog

I read on a thread not on this website that DC Headers can fail California smog. Is that true?

Anything can fail a sniffer test. I don't think you actually grasp how a smog test is performed...

Alright enough with the smart@$$ comments. OP a link to the thread you're referring to might help. Also any car with any equipment can fail a smog test if the equipment isn't functioning properly. If the air/fuel ratio is messed up, any number of sensors, or the catalytic converter isn't working properly, the car can fail the test.

The fact that DC Sports headers are CARB legal simply means they won't, or shouldn't, fail you just for having it (visual inspection). Other non-legal headers can get you failed just for having it. But I really doubt the header itself would cause the various smog check readings to go into the fail zone. There is likely another cause for the failure.
