1320werks Drag EG 2011 (uk car)
right thought id start a build thread for the current car, hoping to run HKS drag series with it either this year, or definatly next depending how the build goes.
right heres the shell we'll be using the white EG and the donor car (for a few bits) the MB6

not 100% on the full spec yet but itll be something like a Benson sleeved, forged B18 w/decent sized precision turbo etc etc (ill put a full spec up when i decide what i need)
the car goes away for rollcage fitment soon so first job was to gut the interior


as you can see theres still a bit left in there which will be taken out before it goes
sadly the shell isnt split mint but a new set of arches are going on and once back from getting the cage the cars going to be treated to a fresh coat of white, cant beat a minty fresh car

next job was to remove the poor old D15



hours job and it was out, dropped the tank off too as it'll be getting a fuel cell, forgot it had 20L of fuel in it though so had to wire up a 12v battery to the pump and empty it into a container lol
not much more to say atm but once its back from having the rollcage fitted there will be some more porgress

Yea i think theres a good chance of us entering the outlaw race, we dont want to rush the build though, as you can appreciate the most important thing with a build like this is putting the hours in.
there is one quick question you might be able to help me with, whats the smallest wheels you can run on VTI hubs/brakes, will a 13x8 like a lenso vpd fit?

dropped the car off for the roll cage on saturday, will post some pics when i collect it this saturday, full 8.5 spec, also may be having a 'chute mount fitted to it too.

I've noticed that all of the 8.5 cages that I have seen done in the UK do not have a lower bar or 'rocker/sill' bar - i can't see from those pics if this car has one or not ?..
Im going to be doing my roll bar / cage soon and if our tech guys dont see it as a requirement then i wont be putting that bar in.
Can anyone chime in on that please?

another quick update, had a box arrive today from the states, contained a few bits

avid racing mounts (engine mounts and torque mounts) and avid racing traction bar kit

and some Injector Dynamics 1600's

Cool, I guess we have different requirements to the guys in the US. This is a long way off yet, but - does anybody think this would cause an issue if we were to bring our cars over for a US event?

First off, Good luck on the build and best of luck to you! I'm an American stationed at RAF Mildenhall and live out in Bury St. Edmunds (Suffolk). Did you guys do the cage in house? I'm looking at putting together a car as I'll be here til' late 2013 and am fiending to get back in the drivers seat so just trying to set up some contacts. Also, I'm not sure where ya'll are located at but, I can get parts into my US P.O. box here for MUCH cheaper than having them shipped over via regular int'l shipping. Let me know if ya'll need any help with anything. Cheers!

bit of an update had some more parts arrive, in the shape of a turbo and wastegate;



the mb6 has been stripped now too for the bits we needed and the shell has been weighed in
