Default H23 - To boost or not to boost...

that is my question. I've got the motor and it needs rebuilding, which is why I got everything for $400cdn. So do I build for N/A or FI? If i go N/A i want the ****** to make power till 8000. If I go FI - DSM setup most likely, i want a reliable 12psi daily driver.

What do you guys thiunk?

I think you need to do some research.

I think I don't need to do research because all I wanted was some opinions.

i hope not. h22 has higher comp and better setup for an all motor app from the get go IMO. the .1 more disp the h23 has wont help that much i mean hell they de-stroke the h22 to h20 to make more power in some cases.

What the hell is an h20? that exisits?

My reply wasnt directed to you Sabastian. It was directed to the first post. H23s vs F22s vs H22s have been a hot topic in here for months. Alot of our opinions can be found in old threads. Thats what I meant by research. H-T is a great place to do research.

Thats what I thought. Just like the Real Time ITR blocks are stamped RTR_(insert number here) Honda didnt actually make an RTR series engine

to run 12 psi daily your looking at a $2000 build of the block. There is no question you WILL need that. You need to sleeve the block and put in forged pistons at the minimum. But with a good set of rods, you will have a much stronger block and you will leave future options open for more boost.

i did check through the archives and only saw the h23 vs f22 vs h22 stuff but no h23 FI vs H23 N/A.

we are gonna sleeve it either way so that's already in the game plan, it's got some bad rings.

I would boost.....takes soooooooo much more money to get an all motor even close to a boosted car.

All that money/work on an all motor car just to have me blow by them in a F22

you dont have to ever sleeve a block people run boost all them time while not beeing sleeved and some people do block guards if your running minimal boost you do not need a sleeved block sleeving is a lot of money and they make your motor run hotter, you can do pistions and you can even do them on stock rods people do it all the time and if your looking for reliable then you can put pistions on a honed block if the walls are scratched and not scratched to bad and run 10 psi on street and 12-14 on track

in order to put different pistons in you must resleeve the block....if you use oem pistons with oem rings you can get away without it...in my opinion, just get some stronger rods, and some new oem h23 pistons...build the head adequately and run 10-12 psi on the street....(you will be able to get away with 15psi at the track as long as you don't do it every weekend)...that would be one monster of an engine by the way...

This motor needs a rebuild so it's getting sleeved.
