Default 98 Honda Accord EX 3rd gear gone.

I have a 98 Honda Accord EX V6 automatic that 3 rd gear has gone out in it. Although it has alot of miles on it, my 17 year old daughter loves it. I can not afford to buy another car, is there some way cheap to fix it?

There's no way to fix it for cheap unless you are comfortable removing the transmission from the car and splitting the case open, laying 10,000 parts on a work bench, replacing the parts that are bad, and putting it all back together.

automatic transmissions are way bigger than manuals with an insane amount of more parts..... to repair it you would have to open the transmission but to do that with u need special keyes u can only go to a certain point without a special key to hold they gears in place without spining to unbolt .... plus you will need to know how to find out witch is 3rd gear see if the actual gear is good or it might just be an electrical thing in the tranny autos have a bunch of electric things in them so u never know what goes bad ... thats automatics for ya ...

I'm just joking, I don't really know much about cars.

Transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt. These particular transmissions were notorious for premature failure. Junkyard transmission in this case is going to be very scary in terms of how long it may last.

That's great, but entirely irrelevant. '94 - '97 Accords weren't known for transmission failures (especially if yours was a 4 cyl model) Also having a transmission last for a few months doesn't necessarily mean much, let me know when it's lasted a year or two.
