swapping intake manifold
so im trying to swap over as many things off my d16y8 motor to the d15d dual v-tec motor from japan. The guy I bought it from screwed me by sending me the wrong motor so im trying to make due and make this motor work. Got the single v-tec swapped over and now i wanted to know will the IM from my d16y8 work/bolt up to the d15b head. I don't want to have to rebuild the old head from the d16 and so thats why i want to swap these. The single v-tec from my D16 bolted right up to the d15 head, so im thinking the manifold will as well. gonna post some pics of the build. Old d16 threw a connecting rod through the bottom end so it's no good. And want to swap and keep it original.
Y8 manifold will work.

SOHC Upgrades Explained
Next in line is the intake manifold. For those of you who want OEM, you want the D16Y8, often referred to as the Type R manifold for the D series. It has somewhat short and fat runners and a large chamber to allow the air to distribute to each cylinder properly. The Y8 IM has the common horizontal throttle body.
