My CRX not so fuel efficient...
I recently got a 89' crx dx with a jdm sohc zc motor with auto tranny.... I've been driving a while now and I noticed im not getting good gas mileage as a sohc motor should be getting. I'm getting about 20-25 mpg. There are no mods to the car except being lowered.
I recently changed the main relay because it was a problem of my car not starting and I thought it was the fuel pump and in the process of me pulling the gas tank down.... one of the small tubes that connect to the plastic round du-hicky on the side of the tank broke off and I didn't think anything of it.... is that a big problem? I don't want to pull off the tank again >.<
I know its pretty bad but I haven't changed the spark plugs or the wires, nor did an oil change.
Any other tips on getting my car more fuel efficient?

check engine light work? is it on?
you really need to change all the filters (air, fuel, oil), the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, o2 sensor, and check the timing. after that, THEN see what the mileage is...

You probably just need a tune up. You have an older engine so the fuel injectors, plugs, cap and rotor are probably tired. I would do I full tune up replace the injectors first, then do the air filter, cap and rotor, plug wires and plugs. Go NGK for the wires and plugs. change the oil, fuel filter and run some fuel systems cleaner and I guarantee you will 30+ mpg. as long as your car is running fine.
Also if you have a chipped ecu with a aggressive map. that could result in bad economy.
