The '96 EK Hatch belongs to my brother. All he has is Hytech Rep Header(4-1), 3" Intake, 2.25" exhaust, Blox TB, & S2 Pro IM as for mods. So today he went to start it up and all of the sudden it knocks. Out of the blue it started knocking. Here's what it sounds like over the phone when I called him after I got his text saying that his motor knocks now:

Anybody have any noises in past that sounded just like the first vid?? I'm hoping it better not be the rod/main bearing because he bought this JDM B18C GSR complete engine with LSD from Hmotors last April.

 

I'll check it out once he gets home from work tonight. I'll keep you guys posted. I want to know from those of you who went through a similar noise to let me know what it can and can't be.

Found out what it was. Loose #3 cyl spark plug just like Video #1.

 

Nice fix. What type of fuel do you use for the GSR motors? should be 93+ octane?
