I've been a member of the site for a while and every time i ask for help with something you guys are always awesome. This time I have all the information in front of me, I just don't know how to apply it... In December someone jacked all four rims/tires off my 2003 civic ex coupe (em2 right? lol) in the middle of the night... I'm looking around for used set on craigslist and found some that are 205/45/16. The tire calculator says that the standard 16 inch rim/tire for my car wants 185/65/16 and that that is a 8.6% increase in diameter. Is that too much to ride on? All my suspension is stock, and yes - now i have wheel locks. Thanks for the help everyone.

205-45-16 is actually 5.2% smaller than stock

205-50-16 and 205-55-16 will fit more like stock.

 

You'll be fine with those tires.

 

205/45/16's are too small. Sure, they can be used for a short-time, but I would highly recommend investing in some properly sized tires soon.

 

These are my Miata's tires... expensive as hell...
