My d16a6 build part1
Ok so my d15b2 blew a gasket so i decided to stay sohc non vtec and cause of budget issues right now.
Well i dropped the motor on monday. i took it out through the bottom cause i have no hoist but it all went down smooth. It was a bitch to remove the head and the gasket too!!!
Heres pics of what ive done in the last month and parts i came up on cheap.
Fresh obd1 td41 dizzy
New zerg industries jumper
Momo steering wheel form the homie
Si lip i had laying around from my old crx (i had to cut the ends)
Like new ngk wires from jkyrd (got my greasy hands on them)
Hasport mount only 1 from jkyrd
d15b vtec manifold complete from a homie (Fatter runners then d15b7)
gsr tb complete
Beaks tie bar and blox lcas
aem cam gear
act prolite flywheel
f1 racing clutch 6puck sprung (no pics yet till 2maro)
Hers a shot of the engine bay i left the harness on there its easier for me that way. The d15b2 block is still clean and in good condition. Today i bought a d16a6 block complete for $100 and im about to tear it apart so i can send it to the machine shop for a rebuild. im thinking of throwing in the pm3 pistons since i wont be using that b2 block. C/r will jump to 10.5:1 correct? will it be ok and safe? If not ill just rebuild the bottom end and leave it stock. I also have a zc head at the machine shop thats getting a valve job and resurface. I got the head off craigslist and it came with ti retainers, bisi springs, aftermarket valves, web 115/273 cam (stage 2 i think) with a full port n polish all for $400. Not a bad deal at all. I will post pics of it 2maro when i got pick it up from the shop. have no pics of the d16a6 block yet but ill post once its out of the shop too. Let me know what you guys think or advice on the block.

Keeping it non vtec so no z6. I ended up finding a sohc zc head on craigslist which made me want to build this in the 1st place. Since I blew the gasket on the stock d15b2 I was just gonna replace it and go on with it but I. Got the zc head for $400 with a race port n polish, stage 2 web cam, and full valvetrain so I jumped on it and today I went to go pick up a d1a6 block to rebuild and add the d15b2 pistons for a compression bump.
