Default SCCA AutoX classing ?

I don't have a current SOLO rulebook anymore and I am wondering if a car prepped to SCCA Touring 2 Road Race specs is still legal for CSP. Would someone have a look and let me know?

Thanks!

CSP, FSP or DSP depending on the car. From what I know, you can run a road race-classed car in the corresponding Solo-II Street Prepared class providing you don't mix-n-match rules. You completely follow your IT (T) rule set.
Example, you can't run 9" wide wheels for Solo-II if your GCR limits the wheel use in your class to 7".

edit- I've entered my car in FSP at our local events.

I wasn't sure if this rule applied to TOURING as well as IT, so I looked it up and here's what it says in the 2001 Solo rule book:

"Cars listed as eligible in and prepared to the current national Touring category rules are premitted to compete in their respective Street Prepared classes. neither Street Prepared nor Touring cars are permitted to interchange preparation rules. Touring cars may use tires which are eligible under current Touring rules even if they are not eligible in Street Prepared."

Yawwwwnnnn.....Alex, ah, there's a good chap.

I don't know.....good tires, cool morning, sticky track, and perhaps some imponderables. Maybe Alex has the occassional flash of brilliance. God knows that BMW pulls hard enough off the corners that if he can keep up momentum the rest of the time it'd be hard for a T2 ITR to keep him in sight over 20 minutes.

Scott, who hasn't seen or heard Alex since mid summer and wonders how he's doing.........so, what do you think?

I think a well driven T2 itr could be in the 2-3 seconds of that but it would be tough. I think it would be closer at a tighter track but National events aren't usually held at smaller club tracks.

Hey Kyle,

Cams? What are cams? No seriously, I am pondering turning my car back into a T2 car and that means cams out (they are A&J's anyways) gears out and interior etc. back in. I am probably not going to run it in SOLO but I am thinking of rental possibilities for the car. It probably wouldn't make the best CSP car in T2 form but it would still be fun. What are you guys running next year?

Victor did the Spoon S2000 give you some bad ideas. Not sure ITE Solo1 for now or ITC local which would not be kind to John

Kyle,

The Spoon S2000 is still at A&J and every time I am there I try to figure out a way to get on the track with it. For $10,000 Mr. Spoon said I could run an enduro with them in Japan. Want to chip in? I want to get on the track with you guys next season, the politics locally really rubbed me the wrong way this year.

What? You mean you didn't appreciate the fact that the S2000 was almost grounded because of a fist in mouth argument over FIA vs. SCCBC regulations?

Or that the old boys club thought RHD was grounds for DQ?

How about the organizers trying to close the doors on fresh entries?

Well that's just me..... somebody kicking in the background observing.....
