Default Idle problem with 1992 Honda Accord DX

I have recently (last week or two) had a problem with my 1992 Honda Accord idling at around 500 rpms instead of 1500, which is what it used to idle at. It will start up fine and run, but when I slow down at a red light or stop sign it will idle very slow, almost to the point where it shuts off, and it did shut off once. In the past day or two it has started to idle slow all the time, when it first started this problem it only idled slowly part of the time.

I have read other posts about idle problems where the car is idling between 500 and 2000 rpms, however my car is just idling slower than usual and doesn't go up and down. Any ideas about what I should be looking for to fix this problem? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Trey

It should be idling around 700 or so......1500 sounds too high to begin with.

I would suggest doing the FITV/IACV/TB cleaning thread just for good measure because it probably hasn't been done before.
