Default Gauge Cluster Compatibility

I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere. I searched a couple forum, including this one, and couldn't find anything.

I have a 1991 Civic Hatchback, and was wondering if any gauge clusters are plug and play and which ones will fit normally.

Thanks.

Probably because you spelled compatibility wrong.

Thanks. Guess I'll just buy the one I found and try it out.

no modifications? 90-91 civic dx-si clusters are interchangeable with no issues. 88-89 have diff wiring to the clusters. you can modify it without much trouble tho

also it doesnt matter if it automatic either, you can use any one you want from the 88-91 but ide try for the 90 or 91, which most of them are. crx, sedan, hatchback will all slide riiiight in.

You said you couldn't find anything, i was pointing out a reason why.

Try setting your search results to relevancy as well, helps to cull unnecessary results.

I have an EM1 SI Cluster in my 91 HF, It took a small amount of cutting and splicing, but it works just fine, and fits very well...

Just out of curiousity how would you modify the 88-89 though? I have an 89 si cluster with an 89dx main harness, and for some reason the harness that goes to the cluster....radio...etc.....wont mate with the female end that goes to the rear of the car. Fuse box plug is direct and cluster plugs are direct. What also sucks is the si harness has i think about 4-6 extra wires. So not all are plug n play and how youd modify to compensate for the extra wires idk? if you do please tell lol. Itd save me $60 for a new cluster and harness.
